Welcome to Surana Buffalo Springs
Perched on elevated ground above the meandering confluence of the Ewaso Nyiro and Isiolo Rivers, Surana Buffalo Springs is an intimate luxury safari camp in the heart of northern Kenya's most captivating wilderness. Seventeen exclusive suites. Private plunge pools. Dramatic landscapes. And some of Africa's most distinctive wildlife on your doorstep.
Buffalo Springs: Northern Kenya's Hidden Gem
Buffalo Springs National Reserve is one of Kenya's most rewarding yet lesser-known safari destinations, home to the celebrated Samburu Special Five: the gerenuk, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra and Somali ostrich. These five iconic species, rarely found together outside northern Kenya, make this reserve a genuinely compelling alternative to more visited circuits further south.
Surana Buffalo Springs sits on an elevated ridge with sweeping views across the Ewaso Nyiro River valley and the Isiolo River confluence below, a natural gathering point that attracts a remarkable variety of wildlife throughout the year. The ever-present silhouettes of the Oloolokwe and Oltorokwe hills frame the horizon, lending the camp a sense of drama and ancient permanence that is unique to northern Kenya.
With just 17 exclusive suites, the camp offers the privacy and personalised attention that define a truly exceptional safari. The property is enclosed by a 24-hour electric fence and patrolled around the clock, ensuring complete security and peace of mind throughout your stay.
